Jose Maria Vilaplana (JMV) has been the master luthier at Alhambra for more than 35 years; he started building guitars with his father when he was only 16 years old, and is one of the founders of Alhambra guitars. There are several models built by him and they are sold under his name as signature guitars, rather than under the Alhambra name.
A maestro of great patience, JMV dedicated much time analyzing the past history of guitar making, as well as investigating the present moment of this noble art, with the objective of designing the finest of instruments imaginable. Following in the footsteps of the brilliant guitarist and luthier from Málaga, Antonio Torres, he succeeded in his objective, with his JMV Serie NT: this instrument has a breath-taking sound quality, which is all-enveloping and both powerful and delicate. It is no surprise that this is the instrument of choice of many of the world’s greatest performers.
The José María Vilaplana Serie NT features solid red cedar top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, Spanish cedar neck, (internally reinforced with ebony), and luxurious gold-plated head tuners. Exquisite French polish finish. A very exclusive guitar for the most exacting guitarist. Alhambra by BAM guitar case 9568 included. Alhambra by BAM AB ICONIC 9270 as an option.

The Alhambra Mengual & Margarit Serie C guitar has a select solid cedar top, solid Indian rosewood body and cedar neck with ebony fingerboard. The luxury machine heads give the guitar a precise and smooth tuning. Alhambra by BAM guitar cases 9720 and 9568 as an option.
The Alhambra Premier Pro Madagascar guitar is a classical guitar with a powerful and dynamic sound, full of nuances. An instrument that is comfortable to play and totally dependable - a guitarist with an Alhambra Premier Pro Madagascar in his or her hands will have complete peace of mind: you can push the guitar to the limit and still achieve a clean and flawless sound. The investment that the master luthiers at Alhambra Guitars have made over the last few years in research and development has come to fruition in this sublime signature model. As well as its excellent quality-price ratio, it is a beauty of an instrument, with a streak of colour from heel to bottom. Only select woods have been used, including exquisite Madagascar rosewood for the back and sides, which add to the character and distinction of this guitar.
In addition to the solid Madagascar back and sides, the guitar boasts a high-quality cedar top, and Schaller Grand Tune Classic Hauser machine heads. Bone has been used for the saddle and nut because of this material’s excellent ability to transmit sound.
For the finish of the Alhambra Premier Pro Madagascar, nitrocellulose lacquer varnish has been applied to the top. This varnish offers greater flexibility and a greater capacity of vibration to the guitar, which contributes directly to the resonance of this instrument. This model also incorporates a twelve-hole bridge for easier installation of the strings and an innovative bracing design called Chinese house. Alhambra 9557 guitar case included. Alhambra 9650 with hygrometer or Alhambra ICONIC guitar case as options.
