The Ramirez Guitarra Del Tiempo is a commemorative guitar designed to celebrate the 135th birthday of the founding of Guitarras Ramirez in 1882. José Ramírez I started building his sublime Spanish instruments at the end of the 19th century and his craftsmanship has been passed down through each generation of the Ramirez family with the very same passion and pursuit for perfection. This limited-edition guitar replaces the model 130 años and every now and again will have some changes in the design, whilst preserving its natural sound and spirit. This is why it is called Guitarra Del Tiempo: it will travel in time and evolve as each significant anniversary is celebrated. Jose Maria Vilaplana (JMV) has been the master luthier at Alhambra for more than 35 years; he started building guitars with his father when he was only 16 years old, and is one of the founders of Alhambra guitars. There are several models built by him and they are sold under his name as signature guitars, rather than under the Alhambra name.
A maestro of great patience, JMV dedicated much time analyzing the past history of guitar making, as well as investigating the present moment of this noble art, with the objective of designing the finest of instruments imaginable.
