The Manuel Rodriguez SUPERIOR guitar series is a selection of impressive instruments with exceptionally attractive woods. The excellence of these guitars is by no means limited to their appearance. All models are equipped with an authentic Spanish heel, an essential component in a first-class Spanish guitar. With this special construction method, the one-piece neck is extended into the body and connected directly to the sides, back and top. This not only guarantees an enormous stability, but also an optimal transmission of vibrations, a faster response and a higher sustain. The heart of a Spanish guitar. All guitars in the SUPERIOR range are handmade in Europe and have additional features that are quite special considering the moderate price range of this series. These include the mahogany neck, which has an ebony inlay on the back for extra stability, the nut and bridge saddle, handmade from vintage oiled bone, and the ecological water-based high-gloss lacquer. The innovative 12-hole Moreno bridge, thanks to its special construction, allows the strings to always have the same contact pressure on the bridge. In contrast to the standard 6-hole bridge, the strings can be fixed more easily, quickly and securely. The risk of the strings slipping and damaging the top is considerably reduced. A special feature of all Manuel Rodriguez 4/4 guitars is the built-in armrest, which offers two decisive advantages: its curved shape ensures a particularly pleasant playing experience and it allows the soundboard to vibrate freely over the entire surface, preventing acoustic damping. The Alhambra Iberia Ziricote was already an exceptional guitar when it was remodelled to create a truly unique instrument to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Alhambra Guitars. The most important feature of this Student model is the singularly beautiful wood: the back and sides are made from Ziricote (Cordia dodecandra). This wood produces a deep and warm sound that is reminiscent of Spain itself. Although each guitar is always one of a kind, this is especially true in this model; it is much easier to notice the difference between one Iberia Ziricote and another. It has been designed with a narrow African mahogany neck. Guitarists who play this instrument in live performances tell us that the ergoneck makes all the difference - it is a very comfortable instrument to play. The saddle and nut are made of melamine. This material transmits a lot of sound, without sacrificing balance. The fingerboard is made of Indian rosewood, which has a high grade of hardness, but at the same time produces elegant shades of sound. The distance between strings and frets has been carefully set to add to the comfort of playing this instrument.
