A life dedicated to guitar making.
Amalio Burguet was born in Catarroja, a small village near the sunny city of Valencia, in 1951. From a very young age he developed an enormous ability to make guitars by working in various workshops (it was there that he made his first guitar in 1966) and became a connoisseur of the guitar-making process.
However, he admired completely handmade guitars, those made in a one-man workshop. He soon resumed his musical training at the conservatory and, at the same time, began to study in depth the more artisanal aspects, studying in more depth the treatment of materials (especially the treatment of wood) and the manufacturing processes.
In 1984 he realised his dream, opening his own guitar workshop in Catarroja. It is here where he applies all he has learnt, making innovative handcrafted guitars of great quality, but at the same time affordable guitars for everyone, both students and professionals. In short, Amalio is the alma mater of the small family workshop. A whole life dedicated to the handcrafted elaboration of the instrument he is obsessed with, the Spanish guitar, both classical and flamenco.
